It is wonderful to have your children in my English 1 class. This is my 33rd year teaching. I have worked for Davidson County Schools for 10 years. My prior professional experience has been in Miami, Florida. For 22 years I have worked in elementary, middle school and adult education. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources. The areas of certification in the State of Florida is in Elementary Education, ESL, Middle School and English 6th grade to 9th grade. In the State of North Carolina my certification is in English 6th grade to 9th grade.

My expectations of the students is to try their best and put forth effort in every assignment they have and to take advantage of correcting their mistakes when given the opportunity. All students are expected to have an interactive 5 subject notebook, an agenda and all materials necessary to be a success in high school.

Students received their vocabulary words for Unit 7 on Monday, April 24, Unit 7 vocabulary test will be May 5, Friday.
Students will be researching William Shakespeare and learning about the Globe Theater. They will view a power point and complete a study guide, they will view a video of the globe theater, a young lady will take them on a tour of the theater.They will label and map out the Globe Theater. They will complete a scavenger hunt on William Shakespeare's life. All three study guides will be used to study for their Shakespeare test on Thursday April 27.
We will be reading one of Shakespeare's most tragic love story, Romeo and Juliet. A group project will follow the play and it will be for a major grade.
INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK VOCABULARY SECTION PAGES 11-19 will be due May 5.
